Blurring text

So I have a text embossed on a surface. I want to blur this text meaning, that there are no sharp edges of the embossed text anymore but a more fluent connection. Basically what curvature does(Press F). But curvature tries to find the same radius for every part of the embossed text and cannot find a common denominator for radius. In other words like a greyscale depth map with white text on black background becomes more one with the background by blurring it in 2D and therefore bringing top and bottom of the embossed text together. See picture.

Have you tried just adding chamfers or fillets to the text edges?

How much text are we talking?

That's exactly what I tried. I've the german version so the translation is different. Just try it with smaller text and you'll never find a suitable radius.

Can you use "extrude with taper" instead of emboss?

Or maybe "decal"

I don't understand why the German version would be different, but I will take your word for it.

While I am not much of an iLogic guru, when it comes to odd things like this with no visible solution, makes me wonder if iLogic would work to give you the desired results.
