Blank Balloons

We are having trouble with random blank or empty balloons. When we exit
the drawing and re-open it the blank balloons are completely gone.
We are having this problem on Windows 2000 and XP. Our graphics drivers
and Windows service packs have all been updated to the Inventor 10
specifications.

Thanks,
Scott Greb

Were the parts imported from MDT?

No. They are very common parts that we use daily.

The prints are also missing the numbers in the balloons.

Scott,

Can you post the data set that exhibits this behavior? Or, if its sensitive
you can send it directly to me at richardDOTwillisATautodeskDOTcom.

Thanks,
Rich Willis (Autodesk)

Ironically enough, I have just encountered this problem upon migration from R9 to R10. Only the balloons in which I had manually overridden are affected.

Was there ever a fix for this?

And and before anyone asks I am on Sp3. I thought sp2 and sp3 had notes
in the readme that they fixed this problem......obviously NOT.

Good Day:

What was the result of this discussion... I am having the same problem... R11, SP2... I find if I reinsert the views and reballoon the balloons work again... however, there is alot of time in doing this to many drawings... Autodesk, please advise a solution...

Thanks,
Benj

Could this be the reason?

Did you realize this posting is like 10 years old and the individuals that participated in it have archived/in-active accounts..  Smiley Wink

Yes, but I search old posts on a Daily basis and gets loads of help, even from 10+ yo cases. I have users theese forum for 15 years and today I had a support case on this exact issue and maybe someone else has this problem tomorrow. There was no solution so I left my 2c. So what is your point?

Great that you are finding issues in older postings but my reply was based on your generic reply/posting..  You just indicated could this be the reason why along with a simple image.  Really not a lot of detail to go on..  Smiley Wink

But your post sounded like you were trying to solve a problem related to a 10 year old post.  So I just wanted to bring it to your attention just in case you didn't realize that.  Things change in 10 years and what people experienced back then may have nothing do with things that are happening today in Inventor.

Anyhow if you had started with "I know this is an old posting but I had a similar problem and this helped me".

Remember I or others can only go off what you have written in a reply.
