bend Compensation and bend deduction in sheet metal rule.

Two questions about sheet metal rules:
The first: There are two rules for unfold sheets, the first is K-Factor, which is well known, and the second method is the bend Compensation.
What is the Bend Compensation rule in a simple way?
And the second question:
When calculating the key-factor, why is there a bend deduction method, even though the Bending Allowance method is available?
Are the two methods just a difference in calculating the real length, or are there other considerations?

Thank you in advance>

Different methods to get the compensation.

This goes over what they all mean quite well:

Thank you so much.
I have read this article previously.
It is rather clear.
What about bend Compensation?

"Bend Compensation" is just a name of the Default rule.

It can use any "Unfold Method".

There are 3 "Unfold Method":

BendAllowance-01.jpgBendAllowance-01.jpg

K-Factor is Linear.  Assuming linear increase/decrease of bend allowance with bend angle.

Apply same K to all bends.

A bigger bend radius tool will have different K than a smaller one.

Need to use bend table in this case.

Bend Table is test result on machine.  The old "rule of thumb".

Allow different bend allowance on different bend angle, radius.

Custom Equation, I don't know how to use it.

Which one to use depends on the shop, material, tooling, software, employee knowledge.

Very nice words.
"""Bend Compensation" is just a name of the Default rule.""
But there is an equation, please look at the attached picture.
This means that the bend Compensation does not have a general meaning in this case, but rather it has an equation as well.

User set it to any one of the Method:

BendAllowance-02.jpgBendAllowance-02.jpg

BendAllowance-03.jpgBendAllowance-03.jpg

User can delete it and create new one with any name they want.

Yes, user can delete the "Default_KFactor" also.
