Beam and colum calculator: composite beams

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I am trying to use the beam and column calculator to find the defllection of a composite beam of two dissimilar materials. I have a floor with 2 beams (rectangular cross section) attached below to reduce the deflection. Under the model tab, it will only allow me to select one option for the model and it is missing the various moduli and shear displacement ratio data after the part selection. I believe this selection specifies the cross section (please correct me if I am wrong). I figured I could use a cross section in the drop down menu to the right of the model selection button, but none of them resemble my cross section in question. As a result of the missing data that Inventor normally calculates based on the selected part(s), all of the resulting calculations are zero. Your assistance and/or advice is greatly appreciated.

Best wishes,

Cory
