Baseline Dimension to Virtual Sharp (Intersection Point)

Good morning.

Trying to select the Virtual Sharp (Intersection Point) for the Baseline Set dimension. Nothing seem to work..

I am trying to select the intersection on the fillet:

In general, is there anything in Inventor that lets you choose the intersection point style?

This is the SW solution for illustration (in CATIA it works very similarly):

Thank you!

When placing the dimension, place the first point of the dimension, then select the vertical line above the fillet and immediately "right click".  Select Intersection from the context menu, then select the horizontal line off of the fillet.  Inventor should snap to the virtual intersection.  It takes some practice, so you may need to mess with it a bit.

There is no Intersection in the menu:

The first point of the dimension is the Baseline which is the surface top of the part.

You're right!  I was going from memory.  Select your baseline, then BOTH the vertical and horizontal lines and THEN the right click should show Intersection.  Sorry!!

Unfortunately this does not work..

Let me clarify what I mean by "Baseline Set":

Again, there is no "Intersection" in the menu.

It says select General Dimension while I need the Baseline Set dimension - can you please make a screenshot of the page? Probably I am missing something.

Thank you.

It's tricky, but seems possible. See 2020 files.

Is there a reason why it's tricky? I mean, this functionality seems like something useful and does not violate any rules. If there is a Baseline Set command shouldn't it work on any instance?

Also, cannot open the files:

Attach your 2018 file. I don't like to create another sample from my own.

Please see attached.

Also, please describe the actions I need to perform to get dimensions as required.

Thank you.

No more time right now. I'm not on my PC for about 5 hours.

Perhaps someone else can jump in for this time.

Ok, I think I get you now.  Sorry, I've been jumping back and forth from actual CAD work, to the Vault forum to here...

All of my testing in Baseline, and Baseline SET; it looks like this cannot be selected.  Which is really odd, in my opinion.  But as a workaround, you can place that one dimension as a stand alone.  I know,... not what you really want.  But sometimes all we get is a workaround.  Sorry for the confusion earlier.

Thank you!

I think I accidentally found a way to do this..

It works, but does not make any sense!

Maybe it could be easier, but it can be done. With small fillets it's painful.

See attached video. (Invisible is an Add Member click in menu after setting the intersection point)
