background fill for view label

I know about tools>doc settings>drawings>cross hatch clipping. I also know that regular text has a background fill option. I am not finding anything for view labels to have a background fill. Am I overlooking it or is my cross hatch fill not working properly. Inventor 2020

Hi @chris_blessing

View labels currently don't support background fill and I suspect that background fills back after view labels were implemented and certainly there is additional work here to do for us. This would be a great request on the ideas forums.

Can you elaborate or provide some details/examples on the cross hatch fill issue? If you want to fill your cross hatch, you can edit the cross hatch and select the solid fill pattern. That should work. I dont see any issues with this workflow on Inv 2020.

I don't want to fill the cross hatch, I want to put a background mask on the text.

Hi @chris_blessing

Got it. I believe this is  a known limitation and has been requested before. Unfortunately, i dont see a way to work around this. Atleast not with the existing text formatter dialog. Its been posted on the ideas forum before.
