Avatech AVI viewing

While viewing any of the AVI from Avatech (see URL)
http://www.avat.com/training/elearning/techtips_action.asp?sgid=4
the dialog is in one continuation but the AVI movie is skipping,
(after 40-60 seconds is just stalls, sometime its back, but skips
a lot of displays) have to actuate the refresh and start over again
or continue from the position where the skipping occurs.
Have high speed connection, DSL.
1 Gig RAM.
Any one experience similar problem or know how it can be corrected.

Thanks
Wolfe

I've had problems with Avatech's videos as well but I'm only running dial-up (give me a break, high speed isn't available in my area). I've talked with Avatech about making the files downloadable to help out slow downloaders like me but Avatech said "no". B-(

It's not the same as your problem Wolfe but just thought I'd let you know that someone else has also had problems with Avatech's videos.

Hmmm...I have the exact same MediaPlayer as Wolfe both at work and at home,
and the 40 seconds video halt on the Motion Constraints AVI is exactly the
same on both machines.

I've had problems with some of their videos as well...audio is fine, but the
video lags behind, is really jumpy, or just stops altogether..

I've always figured it was their server or latency between them and me...

I spoke with Andrew (our webmaster) this morning
regarding this issue, there may some problems with the compression methods used
to create the streaming media as we have discovered that there may be some
problems with several of the other tutorials. My machines at this office don't
seem to exibit the behavior but other offices are reporting
problems.

Just as soon as we have it fixed I'll let you all

the media player version installed on the clients machine".

I hope this resolves the
issues with all of the media files in the tech tips section. Please check out

Hi Carl and Andrew

Made the effort to test drive all your AVI and like to give you my
summary:

Overall your AVI are very interesting and informative, definitely of
help.

The following AVI do not show a continues picture flow, but the dialog is
continues:

Autodesk Inventor - Tolerancing on 3D Models

Autodesk Inventor - Adding Equations to your dimensions

AutoCAD Mechanical - Auto Detailing Components

AutoCAD Mechanical - Creating Associative 2D Views

Inventor - Feature Suppression with I-Part

Inventor - Using Inventor surfaces to create 3D paths

The following AVI do not show anything, no display, no dialog:

AutoCAD Mechanical & Inventor - Moving from 2D to 3D in Inventor

AutoCAD Mechanical - 2D Hide

Please let me know when the above are corrected and will test drive these
again.

Thank you

I'm not sure. I have been out of the office for
a time. I'll get with the web guys and see what they say.

I spoke with Andrew (our webmaster) this
morning regarding this issue, there may some problems with the
compression methods used to create the streaming media as we have
discovered that there may be some problems with several of the other
tutorials. My machines at this office don't seem to exibit the behavior
but other offices are reporting problems.

Just as soon as we have it fixed I'll let
you all know.
