automating dimension annotations

I have an assembly, made of patterned segments.

I have a drawing of that assembly.

Since i change the number of occurrances in the pattern, the annotations always get unattached.

Is there a way to fixate one side of dimension to the first occurrance (that's always present), and automate the length?

Thanks!

Unless you are going to use iLogic, no.

A work around is to have a sketch in the part that is driven by the pattern parameter and you actually dimension that sketch in the drawing rather than the feature.

So I have the circles as a pattern. The dimension 6 would be driven by the pattern parameters.

In the drawing use 'retrieve model  dimensions and it'll show the length of the pattern.

Hi Klemen,

This is a very interesting request. I don't think there is an easy solution out-of-box. In terms of drawing annotation, changing number of pattern occurrences, it is no different than deleting or adding components. When the components are deleted, the annotation will be orphaned.

Many thanks!
