Automatic centerlines on view placement

Is there a way to have centerlines put in the drawing views when they are created, i.e. when you first place them?

I cannot find much new info about this subject. I am hoping there is a way to do this. Right now we are creating the drawings, placing view and then RMB on the views and selecting automatic centerlines.

I'm away from the Office right now but when you are creating your Base View in the Drawing environment in the Tabs on the view creation and placement there is an option to Place Center for the automatic placement of "Centers".

Sorry, wrong spot, go to: Tools>Document Settings>Drawing>Automated Centerlines...

You can then select which Features you wish to Automate with CenterLines.

Hello Ron,

Currently, automated creation of centerlines is not supported on view placement. You can log this request on Idea Station so other people can vote for it.

I tried that, but even after I pick those features, when I place the base view I get no center lines.

It appears that is just the default selections for when you RMB and then click "Automated centerlines" AFTER the views are placed. I would like them to come in as I drop the views.

Apparantly not possible. Posted this to the idea station.

As a relatively new user to Inventor, can someone explain to me why the automated centerlines would not be turned on by default? In 27 years of drafting, I cannot recall ever not showing centerlines on a drawing where there is a hole.

Can someone give me an experience based viewpoint of why you would you NOT show centerlines for a hole on a drawing?

Just trying to understand.
