Autodesk Inventor BOM from Sub-Assemblies Item Sorting

Not sure if this has been answered before, but we have a problem with the BOM renumbering.

What happens is, we renumber the parts in the part list editor to be numerical according to part number on the drawing and over-write that to the BOM.

This works perfectly in the sub assembly A100, as seen on screenshot "A100"

But when we go one level up, to Assembly "A000" (which contains sub-assembly A100 and some other seperate parts), and sort according to item number, the part numbers are not numerical anymore.

When we go up to the main Assembly "0000" these parts are in a worse numerical order.

Is there any way to get the numbers from Sub-Assembly "A100" to reflect the same in Assembly "A000" and then in main Assembly "0000"?

We want to be able to export the complete main Assembly BOM in one go and this must reflect the same order as each seperate sub-assembly drawing.

I am afraid you need to renumber-restructure each level or use a coordinated BOM structure.

renumbering-restructuring is easy and here's how I like to do it.

Go to BOM in the assembly and enable the view, change it to all levels in the View Properties

Use Sort Items and sort by Part number. Then you can use Renumber.

For a Coordinated BOM structure see this post.
