Sorry if the summary below sounds way to crisp. I had LLM summarize a screen recording transcript but I swear it came from a real human...🍖 I'm sure what I'm asking for is coming to the Autodesk Assistant and I can't wait to slap a big green Accepted Solution label on this post soon. ✔️
As of April 2026
Summary – Autodesk Assistant vs. Other LLMs
With the rapid development of large language models, there are now many powerful and affordable AI tools available (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot). I initially avoided native Autodesk assistance tools, as they often felt less capable than general-purpose LLMs.
However, Autodesk Assistant has a clear strength: it deeply understands Autodesk product documentation and workflows. That gives me greater confidence when asking product-specific questions.
That said, general LLMs still have a major advantage: they can generate code—especially iLogic. I regularly use cloud-based LLMs to help write iLogic scripts, which Autodesk Assistant currently does not support. Adding iLogic coding capability would be a significant improvement.
For users developing design intent workflows (potentially using LLMs), the real value would be an end-to-end solution—from concept and documentation guidance directly into iLogic implementation.
Bottom line:
Autodesk Assistant is strong in product knowledge and workflow guidance, but to compete fully, it needs integrated iLogic support to become a true end-to-end tool.
