I was hoping to ask a question in regards to the available mates in inventor 2014. I have worked in Solid Edge and Solid works for about 5 years combined through college and in my professional career. My new Job uses Inventor. Is it possible to do a concentric mate without locking the components in place. For example, if i were to use a concentric mate on a rod and nut, the nut should still be free to slide along the rod without restraint. Inventor seems to only allow the parts to be concentric and locks a surface perpendicular to the axis. Are there more options in mates that I am not selecting? The only available option similar to a concentric mate is the insert mate, which locks the perpendicular surface. See the image below for clarification.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
