Hi! Did you study the solution I provided in the following thread?

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/surface-assembly/m-p/9605205

I created a zero offset surface. And, apply the transitional constraint between the moving part and the offset surface (invisible). This helps control the scope of transition.

Many thanks!

hi @johnsonshiue , i studied your solution the other day. Then  i updated my design and try to redo the assembly like you did. The polyethylene part did manage to slide, but it also can rotate through the talar comp. i just want to constrain so that it will not move through talar comp

Hi! I explicitly mentioned that you need to create the transitional constraint between the zero-offset surface (invisible) in the Tarlaw part and the bottom face of Polyethylene. You need to make the surface visible -> create the constraint -> make it invisible.

Could you try it?

Many thanks!
