Assembly Bonus Tools loading problem

Hi,

Has anyone else got problems with the assembly bonus tools failing to load.  For me the only way to get them working again is to uninstall/reinstall or re-start the computer.  See attached screenshot for error message.

Regards

What version of Inventor and Windows are you running? Have you installed all latest updates?
What happens when you run Inventor as administrator (right-click the shortcut > run as admin)?
Have you re-installed using a fresh new package from your https://manage.autodesk.com page?
Have you check-marked under Tools (tab) > Add-Ins the "Assembly Bonus Tools" to be "Loaded" and "Loaded Automatically"?

Are you able to find the following in your install locations (I am attaching mine from 2022 Inventor here just in case you wish to swap them in to test):

Hi Galaxybane,

Sorry for my delayed reply,

When I shifted across to 2023 with a new install of assembly bonus tools the problem did not recur until today.

As the commands work fine for long periods of time (hours) before stopping working and showing the error message below I am not sure that the install of either the program or tools is corrupt.  My feel is more for either a bug in the latest versions of 22/23 or for some conflict with other software I run.

I would like to see if anyone else is experiencing this problem.

regards

Hi! Is this about the Productivity section in the assembly panel? The old Assembly Bonus Tools are built in to Inventor now. It does not require a separate install. Please check Tools -> Add-Ins -> Assembly Bonus Tools and see where the dll is exactly placed at.

I have tried 2022 and 2023 on Win11. I am not able to reproduce the behavior.

Many thanks!

any help appreciated.

Restarting computer sometimes fixes it.

was hoping latest update would eradicated it but no luck 😞

Hi! It could be Windows User Profile related. Try creating another Admin account or run Inventor.exe as Admin (right-click on Inventor desktop icon -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Run as Admin).

Many thanks!
