Ask the Experts - Index of sheets/polling for Prompted Entries

Normally I would do a lot more research before posting here, but I want to take advantage of this "Ask the Experts" event as they've been quite helpful thus far.  Having done a bit of research already, I know there are some questions I still need answers to and thus this post.

/end prelude

I need to create an index of sheets on a cover sheet; I've seen in some posts it is not supported but can be accomplished with iLogic or VBA and is my planned route.  Much of the data I will need to draw from & dsiplay in Table format will be from multiple Prompted Entries within the Title Blocks of each sheet.  Even if a Sheet Set manager did support this need, I would doubt it would allow me to include prompted entries in this manner but I think I've been wrong before, can't be sure.

So if there is already a built-in feature that supports this, I could use a good pointer/link where I can learn more about this feature.

If I'm on the right trail by creating a customized table, then I'm still searching for a good tutorial or examples on how to manage & pull prompted data entries from multiple sheets of either a .idw or .dwg file using iLogic.

Thanks again for sharing your expertise.

Hi Leonard,

I am not exactly sure what you are looking for. If I understood it correctly, it might not need iLogic. You can add Prompt Entry to Title Block definition. When you insert the Title Block, the user needs to fill in the value to the prompt. Then it will be stored in the inserted Title Block on the particular sheet.

Is this what you were looking for?

Many thanks!

@johnsonshiue nope, you missed the point on this one.  I already have a title block with multiple prompted entries, user providing this input with each sheet added/created.

I want to go to each sheet, grab some of the prompted entry data (such as the Sheet Title), and create a table that will be the "Sheet Index" for the drawing package.  So a table might read...

Sheet #          Description               Rev #

    1                  General Notes             -

    2                  Elevations                   B

    3                  Standard Details        A

etc...   etc...   etc...

Hi Leonard,

Many thanks for the clarification! Yes, I misunderstood it. I think you will need to use iLogic rule to do that. There isn't an out-of-box solution.

No, I haven't as yet found a good tutorial/example for pulling in prompted entries.
