Yes, right-click when moving the dimension (before you confirm the position with the left).

Hey, thank you for your answers, but that is not what i mean. If you look at my drawing, you can see that i selected both of the outside-intersections. This causes the dimension to be in another angle, than the line of 45°.

Dimension Type -> Rotated

Rotated is not always available. I just tried by selecting two points without using Intersection.
Horizontal, Vertical, and Aligned are the only options in RMB > Dimension Type.
Why does one have to use Intersection option to get Rotated dimension type?
Can you attach files or show video? Rotated should be an option unless your picks have precluded it (such as picking a line as one end of a dimension). What version of Inventor?

Hi Jerry,
Rotate should always be available besides Vertical, Horizontal, and Align. It should just work. Maybe we got a bug here. Is this specific to a drawing or any drawing can reproduce the behavior?
Many thanks!
@SBix26 ,
I was testing on a custom (non-orthographic) view.
Retested on ortho views and the Rotated option was available.
Sorry about that.
Regards,
Jerry
Hi Johnson,
May I ask - where the Rotate option is? Please see the attached. Or is it an option for the releases after IV2020?
Thanks,
Igor.

In IV2020 I don't get the Rotate option no matter which way I select a geometry for dimensioning.
The only way the dimension can by placed parallel (aligned) to the oblique line is to create an auxiliary sketch. Unless I am missing something obvious here.
Cheers,
Igor.

Hi Igor,
Rotate Dimension was added to Inventor 2021.

Thanks, Johnson.
You see - people on this forum were calling out for years for contributors to the forum to indicate - what version of Inventor they use and what version of Inventor their attached parts are. What do we have still? The same as twenty years ago. 🙂
Cheers,
Igor.
