Anoying things in inventor 2024

Hello,  I've been working with inventor for quite some time, and year after year with new releases and new features there is a list of things that still annoy me.

Perhaps autodesk cant read my mind, no surprises there, so I have made a list of things that have been annoying me. hoping the devs will look at this.

If i need to post the bend annotation feature idea in the idea station i will do that.

Anyway here is my list

1. Rotating a view in the drawing environment messes up dimensions, even if there is symmetry.

Secondly. Bend order annotations.

And lastly,  its more of a bug that happens infrequently but it can be hard to spot in a quick glance, and can result that the part ends up in the wastebin. I hope autodesk can prevent this from happening in the future.

Hi! I think I have seen these behaviors from time to time in the past. The change in dimensions on flipping the view is a limitation I guess. It is because Inventor categorize drawing dimensions differently (horizontal, vertical, aligned, rotated). When the view direction is changed, the dimension definition may not be flexible enough to accommodate the change.

The second issue seems like a bug to me. If possible, please share the files here or send them in zip to me johnson.shiue@autodesk.com.

When Rebuild All "fixes" an issue, it means there is a bug. Rebuild All should never be needed. It helps because inconsistent behaviors happen. If possible, please share the files here or send them in zip to me johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the issues better.

Many thanks!

@f.vandijkE4VJX As to bend order added to bend annotation, it has been tracked as [INVGEN-74426]. You can also vote the idea in https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-ideas/add-bend-number-into-bend-annotation-on-drawing/idi-p/...

I have send you the files

The last panel about the bend order annotation ,one number for some reason gets flipped. The "nine" is a six. So at least not a random nine.

Unfortunately i have not been able to reproduce issue #2 and issue #3

Hi! Many thanks for sharing your files! Without disclosing the detail, I can comment on the behaviors I noticed with the files. It seems that there was an edge tagging issue on the sheet metal part created a while back. I used an internal debug tool to update the feature birthday and did Rebuild All. After that, the Bend tag orientation seems to be correct. There must be a bug in the past. It could have been resolved in one of the releases. However, this type of issue requires the user to recreate the feature (to get the updated feature birthday).

Thanks again!
