ADDING TWO-COLORED MATERIAL TO THE LIBRARY

Hello

The goal is to add a material that has, for example, one surface in a different color. I would like for the created solid to have a different color immediately assigned to the surface after selecting a material from the library.

Not something Inventor supports out of the box...

You could possible achieve something like that with custom ilogic code though. Kind of depends on the logic of which surface gets which color.

@jan_lurka

Could this be a use case for Finishes?  Assign a Material to the part, and then choose the Finish (such as paint) to be applied to each surface as needed.

@CGBenner

My company uses Inventor 2022, so I cannot use the Finishes option, which is new in version 2024. However, even if I could, this is still work to be done manually. There are two-coloured materials available on the market, e. g. https://www.item24.com/en-pl/plastic-4mm-grey-similar-to-ral-7035-42846?color=26&esd=false&category=...

It would be nice to be able to pick up such material from Library and have right colors assingned already. I will try to write some iLogic rule witch will assign color to specific surface, following @mcgyvr idea.
