adding multiple nut,bolt and washers

I have an assembly with 2 plates with multiple holes in which i need to add a nut, bolt and washers to each hole. As the holes are in an irregular shape is there a way to add in a single selection?

Would you recommend the Bolt Connection feature?

If yes can Bolt connection be also saved as Custom so as to modify each nut, bolt and washer if required

The assembly is Inventor 2015

Best Regards

Richard

Maybe.
Yes.

What happened when you tried it? 😉

Hi Richard,

Paul is right. It depends on how the holes are created and what kind of fasteners you are trying to add. If the holes are created by multiple sketch points or patterning a hole feature, you can do the following.

1) Go to Design tab and start Bolted Connection command.

2) Select By Hole as placement type and select the start plane.

3) Select the hole feature. You will see a checkbox "Follow Pattern" enabled.

4) Click the checkbox and pick the termination plane.

5) Now go to the right side of the dialog and start picking fasteners.

Here is an instruction video contributed by Herm Jan Otterman.

Many thanks!
