Adaptive part not updating while referencing assembly geometry

Heya i seem to be running into an issue whilst trying to create a part that changes based on a different part in a assembly. the issue is that when i change the part on which the adaptive part is based upon it doesnt scale with it at all. it just leaves the sketch inside the part as if i werent updated at all.

i have read thru multiple threads and tried rebuild as well as completely restarting the software.

i ahve created a little dummy model which demonstrates the issue

please advise if a solution is available.
