Active Window Becomes Deselected

I've been having a recurring issue with Inventor, where the active window becomes inactive and my inputs are no longer being entered. When clicking back into the window I'm working on, it takes multiple attempts for the window to stay active. This happens regularly throughout the workday on .ipt, .iam. and .dwg files, on adding features, text boxes, editing dimensions, and regular 3D modeling and drafting commands that open up a secondary window within Inventor. Is this tied to any settings within Inventor, or is this something that would be caused outside of Inventor? Could it have to do with accessing files on a network drive rather than a local drive?

Any insight would be great!

Regards,

David

Check your 3D mouse (if any) and whether it is being pressed somehow. Do you have other running plugins/iLogic on the background running at these times? Losing active focus seem to be a more common issue for API or iLogic interactions.

Your problem sounds remarkably like a problem I had a few years ago.
The whole department I was working in experienced it.  It was worse for some users, but everybody experienced it.
It took us several months before we found out what it was.  During those months we had reached out to our authorised reseller to help us.  They too were baffled.

I don't remember how we figured it out but it turned out that it was the anit-virus software that is installed on every computer in the whole company.

For some reason, that nobody understood, the anit-virus software kept hijacking Inventor dialogue boxes.

Could it be the same for you?  Or some other software doing the hijacking of the windows?
Not that it should matter, but I remember that it was always worse Excel was open at the same time.
