Inventor 2014
I'm trying to scale my part drawn in 3d sketch
and roate it to a different plan
I can't find the commands
and the book is not helping
please post the part.. Its better than 1000 words.. and you will get some other "tips" more than likely..
Are you just trying to make a duplicate of an already existing part just scaled some?
Or are you just trying to change dimensions of an already created 3d sketch?
Why do you need to rotate it to a different plane?

I'm trying to scale the part I've drawn to its proper size, it's a
irregular shape and just changing dimensions will change its shape,
I also need to line it up perpendicular to another part, rotate it.
again..please upload the part (ipt file) here so we can see it
and if you are trying to create an assembly please post the iam file and all the ipt files used in that assembly.
I don't understand what you are trying to do from your words alone and so far think its your misunderstanding of how Inventor works thats causing you problems..
How much training have you had?

I'm taking a class now
I'm not at my computer to show you the part.
I just need to know if I can scale a part drawn in the 3D sketch, not in
the 2D sketch, without just changing the dimensions, a scale command. And
if I can rotate a part within the 3D sketch not the 2D sketch, changing
it's plane.
It was not drawn in 2D sketch.
Thanks
No you cannot redefine the sketch plane (because there isn't one) or scale a 3d sketch like you can with 2d sketches..
I'm so curious what your class project is that you might need to do this..
On this topic.
I am trying to scale a simple 3D sketch.
I am modifying an autogenerated 3d sketch from my Leica Disto s910
I do not see a command to do so.
Is this possible?
As @mcgyvr requested in the original post, please share your file here, or at least some screen shots of what you a attempting to do, so we can take a look. Thanks!

Maybe Derive part... Scale or Direct Edit Scale is what you are looking for..
Hi Aaron,
Brian is right. 3D Sketch by itself cannot be scaled. The only way to do that is to derive it and apply a scale factor. Or, you need to create solid geometry based on the 3D sketch. Then use Direct Edit -> Body -> Scale to change its scale.
Many thanks!
