Hello.

I have received high resolution creaform scan in STL files exec of 140,000 and another file of 280,000 kb how would i go about to get it to be a solid part in inventor? mesh enabler seams to struggle inventor just stop working.

I have also received creaform step files that i can stitch but only get a mesh grid surface no solid. Can not do much with it. is there a way to get a solid of that one?

The scanning firm seams to having problem giving me the right file format and it not helping that this is my first 3d scan to import to Inventor.

Would like to have this one like a solid for later use with HSM if posible.

Any ideas about how to get it to solid? if even posible at all?

I have product design suite.  Inventor pro 2016/2017 and 3ds max but don´t work with 3ds max.

Best Regards

Patrik

Hello Micheal.

Thanks for the tip.

Have been a lot to learn about the STL files and then later 3d scanned step files.

Ok i have not got a positive result from inventor 2017 it can be me but even with light stl files i hade problems try using the fit mesh face but inventor just get slower and slower until it wont work. Have change the cpu to use up to 12 cores.

For now this 3d scan is of my desk i gave up some one else can have headache i work as my own i don't get payed for no result. The goal was to give my customer a part redy for HSM.

Working with inventor pro almost every day and i like it a lot otherwise.

Best Regards

Patrik

Hi,

I understand your pain points here. Did you manage to try the one below. You may think of using a trial version of 3Ds Max for this.

Hope it helps.
