I skipped Inventor 2016 and went from 2015 to 2017 so just learning all the new features now.  Very excited to finally see 3D PDFs.  Just created a few and noticed multiple issues though.  Possibly I am doing something wrong but I am not seeing the correct colours coming through.  Also, I have an adaptive cutout in sheet metal and weirdly the 3D pdf shows the cutout in a different spot than where it is actually supposed to be?!?  Anybody else noticing this?

@RobJV

There are known issues with the 3DPDF output..  Autodesk is currently working on them..  Hopefully SP1 will resolve the issue.

I had the same issue with my colours, and my issue was I had changed the appearance in the assembly file, instead of the individual part files. All I had to do was add the appearance to the part files, and it fixed my issue

Hopefully this works for you!

Thanks for the answer about the colour.  Unfortunately that did not solve it for me.  Thanks though.  Even still, the 3d pdf should be a representation of what you see, not removing colours from an assembly level - I could see a toggle though.

Hi Rob,

Could you provide the dataset?

We know about some problems with exporting colours. I can check if your problem is known issue.
The issue with adaptive cutoout I'm not able to reproduce, but dataset could help me.

Thanks,

Jaroslav
