3D PDF News and updates

Hi gang,

First, updated and localized 3D PDF templates are available here.

These newer versions have significantly decreased in size (we had some bloat issues due to embedded fonts in the original).

Next (and this has already been posted in at least one other discussion thread), we have an new white paper that provides some more information on how to customize the 3D PDF templates.  It can be viewed / downloaded here.

Finally, we continue to make functional and performance improvements to our 3D PDF publishing solution and are releasing those updates regularly.  Please monitor for notifications for service packs and subscription updates and continue to report issues as they arise.

Thanks everyone,

-Andrew

Yes /No

You need a template .. it has the code in sense running in the background.  You can remove almost everything from what they gave you in the Autodesk ones... or use their blank template. you just need the 3d view box...

But you don't need to have all of the parts list, part name, etc etc ...

Hi @andrew_faix,

I'd asked about getting the information in the PDF incorporated into the help files or knowledge network, when you first posted it. Do you happen to know if that has happened?

In the link below a user was asking about this information, and I think it still only lives buried in this thread, but hopefully I'm wrong.

Thank you,

Hi Curtis,

The document you referred to was incorporated into Inventor Help infrastructure as a Guided Tutorial.

Hunting around for it myself, we clearly have some issues with the way we present the landing page for guided tutorials to say nothing of the Search functionality.

In Inventor 2017, go to the Get S Tarted ribbon tab and click on Tutorials.  Best way to find it is by browsing after filtering on Available Tutorials, Novice, English...

Please review and comment, let me know if you think that's sufficient, thanks.

Hi andrew_faix,

I haven't looked at it yet, but just knowing it is in there is a big help.

Thanks for the follow up!

Curtis
