3D PDF Error - Inventor 2017 - Error building javascript for PDF

Hello everybody,

I'm very new to Inventor 2017 (only reason to upgrade was 3D PDF Export in Inventor 2017).

My Problem:
Everytime I try to export to an 3D PDF I get the atteched Error-Message. The error also occurs by exporting a simple cube. So it does't matter if it is a simple or comlexe project.

Anyone who knows a solution for this error?

Thank you very much
Steffen

Make sure you have all the latest updates/service packs installed for Inventor..

3dPDF was barely working when 2017 came out.. They have fixed quite a bit since then but there are still numerous issues..

You may want to put your dreams of 3d PDFs on the back burner till Inventor 2018 comes out (and maybe longer)

As Mcgyvr mentioned ...get all of the updates installed

and get the newest TEMPLATES .. this resolved a lot of the java errors

I have installed all updates, the last Service Pack (SP1) and used the actual Templates from the link, but it doesn't work:

The same error occurs everytime I try to create an 3D PDF.

Can we assume you aren't a subscription customer who can install up to R3 updates?

I "believe" there was more fixes done there..

Can you post your ipt file for others to try?

You might be SOL as like I said.. 3dPDF is still buggy..

What do you have a viewer?

I'm working if the error is AFTER it's creating and it crashes...

Are you opening it after creating in the creating box ?

Are you able to open an existing one from say someone else?

Mike

I am a student so I use a student-license of Inventor 2017. I can install up to Version Service Pack R2. Hotfix R3 can't installed.

I use Adobe Acrobat DC PDF Viewer. 3D PDFS from other people work in the viewer. So there is a problem in Inventor, by creating a 3D PDF.

Atteched you find a simple ipt. File and the demaged PDF I created from this file (newest template "blank").

Thank you very much for your time and help.

Your 3D PDF works fine in Adobe Acrobat DC.

Also I can open your ipt. File. When I try export the file to a 3D PDF, using your template, i get another but differnt error message.

Atteched you find the error message and the broken 3D PDF.

Check your ADOBE DC ... I thought there was an update or something that was needed ...

Maybe uninstall it and re-install it, the Adobe that is ..

I will try a new fresh installation of Inventor. Maybe I will try a other computer too.

I will keep you updated. Thank you so much for your help!

Fresh installation did not fix the issue.

I will try a installation on an other system next week.
