3D mouse issues in Inventor 2017

When I have multiple files open, my 3D mouse only manipulates the first file, regardless of what window is opened. Does anyone else seem to have this issue? This was never an issue before upgrading to 2017. I use a 3DConnexion SpaceNavigator.

I haven't seen this issue in 2017 but I've seen odd stuff with 3D Connexion devices over the years.  Smiley Wink  I would suggest that the 3D Connexion device driver is up-to-date and that you perform a calibration on the unit.   I'm sure other users of 3D Connexion will weigh in on this matter.  Is there others in your location that have this same device?  Is it working for them?  What happens if you swap devices?  Try another USB port...

Open several files and Tile them.

Open the 3DConnexion Control Panel so that you can see it next to Inventor.

As you click on different tiles to make them active, does the focus of the 3DConnexion stay on Inventor and the device work in all tiles (one at a time of course)?

When I open multiple files and tile them, my 3D mouse does nothing. The buttons on the 3D mouse still do what I programmed it to do, but other than that, nothing works. The 3DX properties box says inventor during all of them. I'm going to try downloading a new driver and see if that works. I originally downloaded it this July, but we were using the 2013 suite at the time. Perhaps there is a new driver for the 2017 suite, but I'm not entirely convinced that it'll work given this wasnt an issue up until this week, where as we've been in 2017 for about a month now

EDIT: I installed the latest driver, restarted my computer, and everything seems to be working fine now. Sorry for wasting your time.

Yep, it happens now and then. I have a Space Explorer and the solution appears to be as simple as Ctrl-Tab/Ctrl-Shift-Tab switching between files to regain proper focus.

Not sure why it happens, but know it goes away this easily.
