2025 Double click to edit dimension inconsistent

In 2025, 2025.1 too, when I double-click to edit dimension in 3D view I get inconsistent behaviour, some times I get what I want, the text field to edit dimension (attachment 0), most of times I get that f... icon to share sketch (attachment 1). So for now the work-around is going inside the sketch to edit dimensions, not ideal.

Hope this issue get addressed soon, thanks.

Hi

What happens when you rotate the view and click a "front" dimension?

Hello!  What kind of pointer device are you using, and are all drivers up to date?  I ask this because I only see the "Share Sketch" icon with a single click, so I wonder if your mouse clicking speed is off a bit.

I personally use a basic Logitech B100 mouse, my other two colleagues use an equally basic HP 320M, all are wired and pretty new, no problem when double clicking in other Windows programs or in Inventor 2024 and previous...

Everyone has that problem with Inventor 2025.

@James_Willo Do you have any ideas on this one, or know who we could tag in?

Hi, I wonder if something is wrong with your mouse?

Single click should give the share sketch icon and double click edits the dimension.

Other than that I can't reproduce the issue you are talking about, it works every time for me in 2025.1

As I wrote it's happening only on 2025 on 3 different workstations, we still have 2024 installed on those and it behaves ok... Can I personalize UI not to show Share Sketch icon on single click?

I'm sorry I don't think there is a way to customise that.

I can't reproduce the issue in both Inventor 2025 and 2024 in my environment, and maybe it is related to the speed of double click. Please check the speed of double click, and you could take a look the page below. Thank you!

Unfortunately I could not find a solution yet.

Maybe Autodesk programmers could think about what has been changed in that respect from 2024, if any, to have a clue.

Hi Marco,

Just a remote possibility. It could be display setting related. Are you using dual screens? If yes, please make the one that hosts Inventor the primary monitor.

Many thanks!

Hi Marco,

Are the settings recommended settings by the Windows?

Many thanks!

Can you elaborate on this?

Hi Marco,

I was just asking if the Windows Display settings are the ones recommended by Windows (with "Recommended" label). It sounds that you have made the recommended change already. I am sorry I am clueless at the moment since we cannot reproduce it internally.

You did make the monitor hosting Inventor the primary monitor. The last thing I would try is to use Inventor Reset Utility to reset all Inventor settings back to install default.

Many thanks!

Checking to see if there has been any updates or resolution to this issue. I don't think it's a mouse related issue. I'm experiencing the same problem and have tried similar troubleshooting methods. I think it's just a quirk of the contextual mini toolbar in 2025 version. Annoying that there are no options to turn it off. Thanks!
