2025 Crash when closing Application

All,

How many others are experiencing crashes of 2025 when closing the application.  I just had another instance of it, may be closing in on 50 times since I migrated to 2025.  I go through each file I have open, rebuild all, save, close.  One file at a time.  Then when all files are closed I click the red "X" at the top right and most times it works, sometimes it hangs like it just did, then get a crash report window.

@johnsonshiue this latest crash report # is 823644625

If there is a fix, I am happy to test anything others have tried.

I currently am running an i9-10900 3.7 Ghz

64 GB Ram

Nvidia RTX A4000 16 GB

Windows 10 22h2

I look forward to hearing from the forum experts.

Hi! Are you using Google Drive or any non-Autodesk Add-Ins? Try uninstalling Google Drive and reinstalling it. Disable non-Autodesk Add-In temporarily.

It could be related to corrupted .Net Core install also. Please make sure all critical Windows updates, the latest graphics driver, and all critical PC vendor updates are installed. Try uninstalling Microsoft .Net Core Runtime and reinstall the latest Microsoft .Net Core Runtime.

Many thanks!

Johnson,

I am not using Google Drive, or any non-autodesk Add-ins within Inventor.  I have verified all critical windows updates, PC updates, and Graphics Driver.  Have also uninstalled .net core and installed the latest from Microsoft.

Will see how she behaves going forward 😎

Hi Alan,

Many thanks for sharing the crash report ID! I was able to locate your report. This seems to be a persistent crash on your machine. You have been seeing it for quite a few months. Are you using any non-Autodesk Add-Ins? It could be related to corrupted .Net Core install. Try uninstalling .Net Core and reinstalling it from Microsoft.

Thanks again!

Johnson,

I have uninstalled and re-installed .NET Core again, also, there are not Non-Autodesk Add-ins running on my Inventor installation.  Yes this crash has been going on since we Migrated to 2025.

Is it possible that the .NET Core is being corrupted somehow by Inventor?  I have seen a lot of forum posts where the finger is pointed at .NET core being the problem to whatever is being experienced in that case and that Autodesk is trying to work with Microsoft to get to the root of the crashes seemingly caused by .NET Core.

Is there any update on the collab with Microsoft on finding and correcting this issue?

Thank you!

Hi Alan,

We are about releasing 2025.3.1 update, which may contain related fixes. Please install it when it becomes available. In the meantime, we are actively working with Microsoft to find a good solution to address some of the .Net Core related instability.

Many thanks!

Another day another crash after uninstalling/installing .NET Core again;

Crash Report # 826163793

There was a second one that popped up but I didn't send that one in and went to Task Manager to end the task.

Any update on a possible fix.

My crashes have been consistent since we migrated from 2023 to 2025 since February.

Everything is up to date.

Hi! If I am not mistaken, the crash is a known issue (INVGEN-83851), which has been fixed in the most recent updates. If you are on 2025, please install 2025.3.2 update.

Many thanks!

Hi johnsonshiue

I've searched online and I cannot fine anything newer that 2025.3. My Autodesk app says everything is up-to-date.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,
