2022.2 Make Components : Selection Dialog not working

When using the Make Components : Selection dialog in 2022.2 the "Next>>" button is grayed out when attempting to place another solid into an existing target assembly.  This process has worked until Inventor 2022.2.  Is there another process to replace this functionality?  A work around is to uncheck “Insert components in target assembly” but then the individual parts have to be placed into the target assembly manually.

This doesn’t seem to be a problem if the target assembly does not already exist.

Thank you

David

@johnsonshiue It's unclear from your article (the link in my previous post) regarding the assembly crashes and using the Inv2022Cleaner.exe to revert to 2022 RTM.  I ran the tool, opened Inventor 2022.0 and created an assembly with no crash.  So I tried to install 2022.1.1 again, thinking it may just be the way 2022.2 uninstalled.  I got the same result.  2022.1.1 won't create new assemblies!  We were running 2022.1.1 in the past without this problem.  What is going on???  Please advise, and hopefully your answer isn't that the only working version of 2022 is 2022.0 or some pre-release that creates non-forward compatible files.

Does the 2022.2.1 Update resolve this issue?

Thank you

According to the release notes, 2022.2.1 addresses the issue, but I haven't had a chance to confirm this myself.

Hi All, i can confirm the problem is fixed in 2022.2.1and you can now once again push parts up to existing assemblies 🙂

Hopefully has introduced any other anomalies

Cheers

@johnsonshiue ,

If this is a known issue then this update should not be available for download. We just got done updating our whole department and are unable to find the previous update. What are our next options?

Hi! 2022.2.1 update was released a few weeks ago and got pulled soon after due to some quality issues. We are in the process of rebuilding it. It will be labeled as 2022.2.2 update so that anybody who downloaded and installed previously can install immediately.

I am very sorry for the delay and confusion.

Many thanks!

This post is referring to an issue where users were unable to Make Components and place them in an existing target IAM. This was a known issue by Autodesk and has been fixed with 2022.2.2.
