Factory File Name correct but part will not be found

Hello,

We have shown on the pictures the correct FactoryFileDirectory. The part is available but Inventor mixes the factoryFileDirectory path with some "Design File" Path.  How can this happen ?

Please see attachements for closer information

Thank you / Regards

Timo

I guess I found a solution myself .

instead of original %%factoryFilepath which includes LibraryLocation i need to write

my own path within modifier !

Pictures attached

If anyone can confirm this is the appropriate way ?

Thanks

Timo

Hi Timo,

Good that you've found the solution. Did you use "Show Dependencies" command? The UI provides the Formula behind and value of the particular slot on Intent Part.

Writing Rules in the modifiers should be done with caution. The changes affect the behavior of the Design itself and all other Designs derived from it.

Thank you,

Hello Alex,

I only know the way with the modifier. If there is a other solution please tell us what you mean by using the "show dependencies" Command. I am not aware of what you can do with this command but I will try to find my way through the Help file . 🙂

Thank you / Regards

Timo

Hi Timo,

One of the ways to define new behavior of the Design is create the new DesignEx, which would extend the Design with the redefined set of Rules and Parameters. If you used adoption for creating of the new Designs, then it might be used for modification. For example,

Design TheWasher : TheRootDesign TheWasherAdopt

' Your Rules...

End Design

The Dependencies UI is described at this page
