Update license

I administer a lab of AutoCAD and Revit workstations. 

Two Questions:

1. We Previously had the 3 year maintenance that you get with an EDU license.  Has this been replaced with the 1 year license?  I use the stanalone installer.

2. Instead of uninstalling the expired 2020 can I trigger a new license from the download page at https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/autocad and copy it to all the machines as suggested by this link:

Hi @thomaswhilbert,

All Autodesk products available for education are now available in 1-year terms.

When the license expires you can request a new serial number and reactivate your software - no reinstallation needed.

Is there a way to renew a lab of computers and not have to go to each one?  We want to keep the 2020 version that is installed but update license?  I tried copying the  *.pit file as described in this link https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-c...

But it didnt work.
