It will be a script error - in response to a situation which shouldn't happen. Please post your system specs (OS version, graphics card details etc).
Did you install as Administrator? Run Max at least once as Administrator before trying to use it with an LUA? It sounds like Max is simply not configured correctly, or your system is not suitable. Won't be able to tell without the details.

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.
nVidia GTX760 (2GB) (Driver 430.86).

It's been a year since I put this question, but will answer for those who read this post for help. It seems that your PC is not powerful enough to process graphics. have to change the "display driver" comes to: Customize> Preferences> Viewports> Choose driver>Nitrous Software> OK> OK

Restart 3ds Max, with this must have solved your problem with the Viewports.

P. D. Sorry for my English, I'm still learning.

Thankyou so much. I tried changing it to direct 3d and open gl because in other forum i saw nitrous causes issues, but even in the rest 2 it never woked. But when I saw your post just thought will give it a try and it worked..... Thanks a ton
