Tokens and use of tokens to process Inventor nastran FEA files on cloud

Good Morning,

I have a company wide user licence that allows me unlimited use of the Inventor nastran program.

Ive been told by word of mouth that you can buy tokens to allow you to process your simulations more quickly on the "cloud".

I have also been told you can be massively fined if you already have a licence and then buy tokens on top. 

Is there a way to get access to cloud based processing for nastran for a 'standard' licence user without contravening the licence agreement for use of the nastran /inventor software?

What year version of Inventor Nastran are you licensed to use exactly?

And can you actually purchase tokens for it from Autodesk?

Thankyou we run 2023.1.2 i believe.

I have the option to buy tokens on my account but our IT department are scared of letting us as we got a hefty fine for doing so in the past, so i need solid evidence that getting tokens for cloud processing wont interfear with our lisencing agreement with autodesk. Hopefully then i can argue the case and get my tokens

Hello Ben,

My name is John Holtz with Autodesk Nastran support. 

Flex tokens are a different type of license. They are not related to solving an analysis on a cloud. (To make things confusing, some products like Fusion do use Tokens for solving a simulation on the cloud!)

Inventor Nastran does not have the capability to solve an analysis on the cloud; it can only solve the analysis on your own computer. The only advantage of using flex tokens in your case would be to allow you to run Inventor and Inventor Nastran on a second computer in your company while you are still using Inventor (and Inventor Nastran) to do other work on your own computer.

So maybe the questions are the following:

1. What type of analysis are you running?
2. How long does it take to run?
3. What can be done to make it more efficient?
