Student license reactivation doesn't work

Hello, everyone!

I'm a lecturer at Polytechnic of Rijeka. My 3-year license has expired and AutoCAD keeps warning me for the last few days to reactivate it.

Every time, I click ACTIVATE button, and it says "Congratulations! You have successfully (blah blah...)". However, next time I start AutoCAD it *AGAIN* warns me that the license has expired and I need to reactivate it. What the...???! Smiley Mad

In the attachment is the registration information stored on my Mac (I've crossed the codes out, this is just to show that the product actually IS activated).

Hello emil.prpic and welcome to the Autodesk community!

It looks like your license has expired. The following article(s) should help you resolve the problem:

Reactivating your Expired Subscription Home Use License

Log back into the education community and generate a new code if needed. Your contract needs to be renewed (even though it's free). The contract only last for 3 years, then a new one needs to be created.

If you have trouble with this, please reach out to the education support team

Thank you for your reply. Where *EXACTLY* do I need to log in to? I did log in to register.autodesk.com and entered everything manually. Got another activation code, AutoCAD said it's activated, but, after restarting it, again it says the license is expiring.

I can understand that I need to do something somewhere, but why don't I get a clear message what to do? This is rediculous... 😕

This is a public community where users are helping users... We're not Autodesk.

Here's the education community site

If you choose a product and the serial number is the same for the version you choose, delete the contents of this directory and try launching the application again...

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\FLEXnet

Thank you. I apologize if it seemed like I was criticizing you. I wasn't. I was critisizing AutoDesk for messing up such a simple process.

I logged in to the education community, but now they don't offer AutoCAD for Mac at all??! Smiley Surprised Windows only...

Thanks. I've found it. Serial number is the same.

I've found a folder

/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Adlm/FLEXnet

I suppose that should be Mac equivalent of what you suggested that should be erased.

Inside I have:

- a 23MB file named preparchive_11.11.0.yaa

- a folder named bin (as in "binaries"), and inside it:

  - 475 kB unix executable FNPLicensingService (I'm not sure that it's wise to delete it)

  - 5 kB unix shell script install_fnp.sh

  - 1 kB unix shell script toolkitinstall.sh

Does it seem at least remotely similar to what you have on Windows?

Sorry, I forgot this was for a MAC... Delete the ProdInd_UserInd.cur file from /Library/Application Support/Autodesk/ADUT/

Thanks again for your effort and support. Finally, it turns out that I simply CANNOT extend my educational license on an old version. I need to request a new license for a newer version. I suppose it would have killed them if they put that in plain text, in the expiration message itself… 😕

I figured that was the case. That's what I suggested in my original post to you. Oh well... Happy to see you're back up and running!Smiley Wink
