REVIT 2014 trial on Retina Macbook Pro running in Parallels 9 - freezing up

I downloaded free trial of Revit to my new macbook pro - running under Parallels. Revit keeps freezing up within 10 minutes of using it. Have to force quit out.

Laptop macbook pro with OS X 10.9.2

Parallels - latest version - running with 8 gig RAM and 250 gig C drive.

Native Iris graphics 1024 and Nvidia Geoforce GT 750 graphics card.

Windows 8 software

Installed trial under browser download - installed fine. But says my Hardware acceleration is disabled. Software emulation mode in use.

Any advice on how I can get this moving?

Thanks in advance!

Hello. The “latest version” of parallels could be a problem. I know nothing about it specifically, but I know it has not been tested, as it did not exist when the 2014 Revit was released.

I suppose I would follow the basic troubleshooting steps. Uninstall and reinstall, update your graphics card drivers. Are you displaying any errors?

Thanks for your reply.

Having trouble knowing if I can reinstall the trial version if I uninstall it. Can you answer that or send me a link to where I can get help? Support on the autodesk site is bewildering.

Should I have a problem with ?download now?? Got install error messages when going that route. Instead used browser download.

I get no error messages in usage - only freezing up - can?t even minimize or close the file, but other computer functions not affected.
Freezes up upon opening and using for a few minutes. Seems to unfreeze after a half hour or more as I left it alone for a while. Then freezes up again upon use.

Have you had issues with Parallels before?

I'm having the same problem. Did you solve it?

I have a 13" Retina Mac Book Pro and found that when you are using Windows / Parallels at 'full retina resolution' (2560x1600), Revit 'hangs' and some of the options boxes flicker non stop and nothing works. If you reduce the windows screen resolution to 'normal laptop' resolution such as 1680x1050, Revit should work for you.

I am having the same problem freezing up with the following system:

16 GB of Ram (8GB Configured to Windows 8.1)

OS X 10.9.4

Parallels Build 9.0.24237

Windows 8.1

Revit 15

I understand that hardare acceleration is not supported  in Parallels. You can't change the windows driver.

Is anyone else having any luck?

I abandoned Parallels and went to Bootcamp. I know quite a few people that have had success, but Revit 2014 running on Bootcamp with Win8.1 was nearly 30% faster with the RFO Benchmark test then running Win8.1 on Parallels. If you dont mind booting between the two OS's, you will get much better performance (and native Graphic Drivers) running Windows Revit via Bootcamp.
