Registering with enter serial number crashes

Hi, 

 

I'm trying to install Maya 2017. When I open it takes me to the "Let's Get Started". I choose enter serial number and it crashes. I entered a support ticket and my answer was:

  • Go to Start > All Programs > Autodesk > Uninstall Tool
  • Select Maya 2017 and click Uninstall. 
  • Remove the Trusted Storage files (Licensing) located in these areas:
    • Windows Vista/7/8/10   
      • C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\adskflex_########_tsf.data
      • C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\adskflex_########_tsf.data.backup
  • Delete any residual Program Files from these locations:
    • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\
    • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared
    • C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\
    • C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\
    • C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Local\Autodesk\
    • C:\Users\All Users\Autodesk\

The program folders should be clearly named.

  • Clean out your TEMP files:
    • Click the Windows Start button.
    • In the Run box type %TEMP% and press Enter
    • Highlight and delete all files. Ignore any files in use.
  • Reinstall Maya 2017 from the correspondent folder inside C:\Autodesk (if you need to re-download it you can get it from Virtual Agent)
  • At the Let's Get Started window select Enter a Serial Number and type in your SN

But it still isn't working. Thanks in advance

Hello @Anonymous,

 

 

If you had a bad download this could cause the issue with the LGS screen crashing. Also, you can try a license reset. To force the Let's Get Started screen to appear properly. 

 

Reset Licensing 2017 & newer products

Need to enter a serial number for your renewal

Residual files seem to indicate that you have a stand-alone license.

The FLEXnet Licensing Service is stopped and/or disabled.

The LGS.data file is corrupt or failed to install.

Redirection of HTTP traffic caused by malware.

Solutions:

  1. Close your Autodesk program.
  2. Delete the three (3) files prefixed with Adskflex  from the following folder:
    C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\  
    Note: The above files are Hidden files. You may need to enable Show Hidden Files in Folder options.
  3. Locate the following folder:
    C:\User\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ADUT
  4. Rename this folder to: ADUT2
  5. Browse to the following folder:
    C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS\<product key>_<product version>
  6. In this folder, do one of the following:
  • Open the LGS.Data file, change value to _USER _STANDALONE  or  _NETWORK, and save the file.
  • Delete the contents of the folder.
  1. When you launch your Autodesk software, you will be prompted to sign in or (if you have a Serial Number please use it)

 

 

If the above solution does not work please try the following solution:

  • Disable your Antivirus Software.
  • Create a new activation file via the following steps:
  • Remove all files under C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ADUT. You may need to show hidden files and folders if you cannot see the AppData folder.
  • Under C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ADUT, delete the ProdInd_UserInd.cur file.
  • Go to C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet and delete any files that start with adskflex.
  • Run your Autodesk product and try activating.

Solution doesnt work. I have tried both methods you posted. I got the Lets get started window and when I clicked "enter serial number" it didn't get me to the "serial number and product key" window rather it gave me that typical "Product Licence Activation" with only option to click ACTIVATE. When I click that , it had "Connect now and activate" and "I have activation code option". I selected the former and clicked next and after 3-4 seconds it showed "PROCESSING ERROR". I have tried every method to activate ie online activation methods and had some motivation to try this method but didn't work.Though earlier, I wouldn't even get to "Lets get started window" but using this method I have gotten there but after clicking "enter serial number", it crashed again😭. Please help
P.S: My product is Autocad 2019 and Licence type is student 3 years version
