I have 4 individual seats of AutoCAD Mechanical 2017, there are 4 dedicated computers 1 per seat. The first 3 seats were all purchased before the migration to user account based serial keys. So each of those reveal a serial key under my account. The 4th however was more recent and does not display a serial key and instead tells me to "just login".
On this 4th newest machine it is suddenly reporting 16days left in trial. When I click activate (while signed into my account) it reports the attached screenshot. "The product license is no longer available. Please save your work and shutdown."
I have already tried Natashal84 & Mark Lancaster's methods of navigating and deleting files from within the hidden ProgramData folder. It did not make a difference.
It is worth noting that there is not a "LGS.data" file within this folder as suggested: "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS\<Product_Key>_2017.0.0.F"
I have advanced support, however when I call the people under activation (extension 1) help tell me I need to speak with "extension 2 - installation support". After multiple calls they revealed there is only one representative handling that extension. I have spent a total of 94 minutes on the phone holding for extension 2 trying to get answers, I finally had to hang up so I can go home. (My place of business has been closed for over for 2 hours now.) Please help.

Welcome to the community...
There's no folder called C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS\<Product_Key>_2017.0.0.F, it would actually be C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS\206I1_2017.0.0.F.. Are you saying you are not seeing that?
If the folder is not there... Create that folder name and continue to the next step. Update: To clarify, the folder name is 2016<letter I (eye)>1__2017.0.0.F
If the folder is there... Create a text file in that folder called LGS.DATA and type the following _STANDALONE. Make sure its all capital/upper letter as shown. Save the file and ensure the file extension is .DATA and not LGS.DATA.TXT
Good luck and report back on your progress.

I opened up autocad and it created the file .data file needed. I opened it with notepad and it had "_USER". So I replaced it with "_STANDALONE". Rebooted autocad and it asked to activate and required a serial and product key. So I put it back to _USER and he is back under the free trial again.

I am the only one involved with the software purchasing & installing. I puchased this copy of AutoCAD Mechanical 2017 through the Autodesk website 2/23/17. I then used the default Install Now option for the product listed in my Products & Services section of my Autodesk account to install. It activated fine and said nothing about a trial. We did not use the computer for about 14 days, once we hired a new detailer and turned it back on this trial message appeared.
I cannot enter a serial number because Autodesk has recently switched to a method were serial numbers are no longer supplied for 2017 and newer versions of there software. A service representative told me this yesterday.

Whoever told you that is misinformed.. Autodesk license still require a serial # to activate unless you have a network perpetual or mult-user term based license. Or you are using the software as a trial.
In your Autodesk Account do you see these icons (ignore the arrow in the image) in the upper left hand corner.

Yes I see these icons. Here is a collection of screenshots from within that area. You can see I have 4 seats of autocad, and only 3 are active. You can also see where the newest purchase will not display a CD Key.
I would contact an Autodesk Agent >>here<< and ask why you are not seeing your serial #s. Serial #s are still issued even for term based single user license. The other thing you'll need to do is to create an account user for this new individual and assign them the use of this product (since you have term based licensing) and most likely you will need to un-assign the use of the product for your Autodesk Account because it was automatically assigned to you when you purchased it.

Mark,
I would prefer not to add users to the account. I contacted support just now per your recommendation, they are still telling me I need to wait for instillation support which is unavailable at this time due to being severely understaffed.
Hello Thomy. I notice your case is already being handled by the Installation specialists

That's how term based licensing works.. You have to assign it to a given user so you need to add users under your subscription. What happens if you hire another user down the road and purchase another license of Autodesk Mechanical? You can't use a named account more than once to authorize an application and have those applications running at the same time.
Finally thing.. And I know you probably don't want to hear this.. But you should always go through a reseller and not through the Autodesk On-line store. At this point your reseller would be assisting you and getting the attention you need to resolve this and you would not be waiting for a department that is understaffed..

My other 3 seats are all cd key based, this is the only account based one correct?
So I should be fine for the time being.
I assumed going directly to the source was the best option to cut out the middleman, of course I went to reseller and asked for a better deal. They offered the same price as the online store with no quantity discount for 3 seats. As far as support if I went through a reseller, I contact them, they contact support and I wait. Also I payed for advanced support which I guess means nothing because it hasn't gotten me anywhere.
Hello @tonyFFMZC,
I see two-term based subscriptions for Autodesk AutoCAD Mechanical 2017 Non-Language Specific under your name. I will send you a PM with more information. Maybe we can investigate the issue with the information I have.
Thank you for your patience.

I was helped today by Victor Rocha Cortez, a member of the installation support team. He tried all the fixes listed above and also doing a clean uninstall & reinstall via Teamviewer. It did not work. He said he has seen this issue before and there is no reason to apply a user to each term based subscription. He told me he will have to escalate the issue and someone will contact me tomorrow. Its an error within the license issued itself.
Turns out all these headaches and problems that stumped 4 different service reps and everyone here was a simple check box in there Autodesk Account Online website. It is only accessible by going to classic view and then clicking on the user.
There is a small checkbox that says assign. The computer doesn't show up on device list still but AutoCAD is no longer in a trial mode so close enough.
Hello @tonyFFMZC,
Thank you for reporting back on your findings. I have included some information for visitors of this post.
