There is definately something going on....when we installed AutoCAD 2000, we
did not seem to have this problem, but with 2000i this problem appears
sporadically....I did not realize that network traffic was being generated,
but we definately saw EXTREMELY slow performance just moving the mouse
around in relatively simple drawings. Come to think of it, when that
happens, everybody complains about generally slow network performance! (100
mbps) I assumed that the network was slowing down AutoCAD, but now that you
mention it, it could have been AutoCAD slowing down the network.
We are running Windows NT4 SP6a workstation on an all windoze network, using
the ADLM with the software installed on each workstation (I think Autodesk
calls this a Client Deployment). We have cad stations ranging from P2-300
up to p3-933 all with at least 256 MB of RAM, Logitech mice, and DLINK
network cards.
