Maya 2023 Education Licence doesn't appear on my account

I used an Education Licence on my Autodesk Account to try Maya 2020 a few years back but uninstalled it after 2 days. Yesterday, i validated my Education Status again because i started to study 3D animation on a different university. So my account has a 2020 Licence for Maya, but i.e. not for Arnold.

When i now download and install Maya 2023, the licence for 2023 wont get added to my account.

When i tried Arnold 2023 - it worked. (Arnold 2023 was added to my account and i got an email confirmation.)

 

The problem is, that i already spent over 7 hours with e-mails and livechat to get support. But the Support won't accept the fact, that i already uninstalled and re-downloaded the program over and over again. All they do is sending me a link to the page where i can download Maya, and then they wonder why i don't get the licence. I found out, that the old licence has to be removed by hand but i told them over 15 times now and they just ignore that line.

 

Is there anything i can do to get quick access? Can i delete my whole account, create a new one and can validate my education status again with my Student ID?

Thanks for posting in the forums. I am not an educational expert but I can provide some guidance. 

 

I am not sure where you downloaded Maya 2023, but these are the steps to take to gain access: 

  • Your Educational Account will provide you with all the information you will need to download, install & activate directly on the "Education" page, you will also receive an email confirmation with activation information. The product will appear in your Autodesk account after 24-72hrs.
  • If you have already selected the product on this page, it is registered & should also be available in your Autodesk Account after 24-72hrs

Note: For each product & version (Maya 2023) you wish to receive in your Autodesk Account visit the  "Education" page & select it from the drop-down

Please explain to me why nobody wants to understand that it's not working. I wrote that the licence does not appear when i download and install it. What is it that everybody just keeps telling me where to download it?!

 

I did that over 20 times now and its not working. I did it 1 time with the account of a friend and it worked. So I know where to click BUT ITS NOT GETTING ADDED TO MY ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!

Hi @d.garciiia,

The current education licenses are assigned to you when you press the download button, that's why one of the first things to troubleshoot is to try to download from the education page again. You don't need to reinstall, the button just does two things at the same time. I have often seen students have a trial version of a product installed, and say they have educational access but no license, hence this first step.

 

The next step would be educational support since your account isn't getting a license when you click download on the education page.

had over 5 tickets open there (+ live chats with support agents) and after i went through the whole process over and over and over again with downloading (tried every single webbrowser available for free to try it) and installing and downloading and looking if its added now, no, so downloading again and explaining again that i already did that and getting the download link again and again, the agents always say that someone will come back to me for that case but nobody actually is doing so and everybody is ignoring the question if i could delete my account. no no, no yes. just nothing.


and as i said: i tried it for an account for a friend, with their student id, and it worked in an instant. so i am able to follow the steps. its just not working with my specific account. it's so frustrating not being able to reach someone at autodesk. reddit also just say that some similar cases waited for over 3 months..... it's insane.

I have to work with maya for my university and i really need to get started. i am all day long looking for solutions, trying to contact support,.. but since day1 nothing is being done.

another support agent reached out to me and told me where i can download maya....

 

guys for real i am getting really frustrated, angry and sad. it's like i am talking with aliens.

i need support.. how can i get some? i just need 2 questions answered.. what the **** is wrong here?

On 9/28, there was a backend incident that caused your subscription to fail to be generated properly which is why you are having issues.
