license-manager-is-not-functioning-or-is-improperly-installed - Autocad 2017

Dear,

I'll describe the whole procedure already carried out and ask for help to solve the problem. I installed autocad 2017 and after all the completed installation procedure, I tried to open the autocad but as soon as the screen trying to open appeared the message "The license manager is not funtioning or is not improperly installed. Autocad will shut down now" then I search the help within the page of Autodesk (https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCA...)
So I did this procedure and obtained partial success because now when trying to enter the autocad 2017 the message does not appear initially because now opens a box where appears the option to put the serial number and clicking enter the serial number the same message back appears: "the license manager is not funtioning or is not improperly installed Autocad will shut down now." .
Now to my surprise I tried to get in Autocad 2017 but now instead of providing the number of the serial but now by clicking start the trial version and to my surprise, the autocad opened without any problem . This way I can open and use autocad but does not solve my problem because the trial version is only 30 days and then return to have problems, then how do we actually solve the autocad registry problem in 2017?
I use Windows 10, 64-bit - original product.
Attached is some pictures of the problem

Welcome to the community and hopefully my (or someone else) reply will be beneficially to you.

As a reminder, this is a world wide (public) user forum where users are assisting others. In addition do not post (including screen shots) and/or share any personal information (such as your serial #) here.

In the C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS directory what 2017 folders are there?  Is there a folder called 001I1_2017.0.0.F located there?  If so if you open the LGS.DATA file using NOTEPAD what information is in there?

Dear Lancaster,

Thanks for posting information.

In fact I tried to find the <PRODUCT_KEY> _2017.0.0.F but found that this folder but found two folders within the folder that LGS were named 001I1_2017.0.0.F and 919I1_2017.0.0.F and inside was a file called LGS.data and open with notepad appeared _STANDALONE so I closed the file, deleted in both folders and created a new file with the same name and it wrote _STANDALONE and savei these two folders. However I created a folder called <PRODUCT_KEY> _2017.0.0.F within the LGS folder and also saved the file in this folder but the problem continues.

I uninstalled and installed twice and the problem follows the same.

It is not necessary to create a folder called <product key>_2017.0.0.F.  The article meant to substitute <product key> with the actual product key for your application.

Have you tried this steps as well:

  • Disable your Antivirus Software.
  • Remove all files under C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ADUT
  • Under C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ADUT, delete the ProdInd_UserInd.cur file.
  • Go to C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet  and delete any files that start with adskflex.
  • Run your Autodesk product and try activating.

Better still - disconnect from the internet (yes, you read that right), and then run it.

Any resolution on this issue?  We are also having the same issue with IDSP2017.  I just submitted a support request to Autodesk and I'll let you know if they have an answer.

Is anybody using the Windows 10 Anniversary or the Windows 10 Insider Preview version?  If so these Windows versions are causing a lot of issues with Autodesk products.   Just wanted to check...

I've tried disconnecting network cable -no go. I followed all steps in https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCA... -no go. I have ser# and Prod. Key from ADN. I'm a local admin on my workstation, but cannot disable Symantec SEP-12. Besides, online activation is not possible on our DWAN network because of proxy, with any other application too. Installation of Autocad-2017 from the Building Design Suite Premium completed without any problem. The problem happens when I try to start AutoCAD. I click on "Enter a Serial Number" (see screenshots), and after a while I get a popup "The License manager is not functioning or is improperly installed. AutoCAD will shut down now." So, my question is: How can we do manual (offline) activation without Internet connection? It used to be possible in 2015 & 2016 editions, but in 2017 looks like they changed the procedure. OS: Windows 7 enterprise SP1 64-bit.

As it appeared, my problem was related to some domain GPO conflict, so it's not related to this thread.

Hello @Anonymous,

The license file for a network contains important licensing and server information and is used to configure your server so that you can run the NLM. Confirm MAC address on license file and port 2080@_____ at network set up for the program match up.
