I have a perpetual license for AutoCad Design Suite Standard 2015. I am moving from one computer to another. When I run the License Export Utility on the old machine I get an error "EXPORT REQUEST FAILED. The serial number is invalid (40)". I have tried everything that the help screens suggest and nothing works. I have an "Uninstall AutoCad 2015" app, is there any chance that running that would release the license to be installed in the new computer, or would I just be without AutoCad on both machines?

Is your perpetual license network based? YES.. No need to transfer the license to another machine. Just install and it will activate again through your license manager.
Do you have an active maintenance plan with your perpetual license? YES: You can no longer user the 2015 version and thus you can't transfer it to another machine.
Did you have a maintenance plan once for the 2015 version and you no longer have it active? YES.. Once you fail to renew a maintenance plan you are only entitled to the current version of the product at the time of the release, which means you can't transfer the 2015 version to another machine.
If you answered NO to those questions, just install it on the new machine and see if you can activate it. If no, than you'll need to reach out to the Autodesk Licensing and Activation team

Mark,
Thank you for the reply. It is a single user perpetual license for one machine. I am not familiar with the term "network based" in this context, but I do not have FlexNet installed.
I do not have an active maintenance plan (that is why I'm still running 2015, I have no interest in an ongoing fee and even less interest in replacing the product every year).
I have installed it on the new machine and activation fails. I have been unable to reach the licensing and activation team (AVA asks if I want to chat with them, the message comes up "no one available do you want to create a case" , I say "yes" and fill out the form, then the app crashes. Six times now. I have 28 days left on the trial on my new machine and if I could just find an e-mail address that would reach them it is probably plenty of time, but I can't find that either. I know that what I'm trying to do is in no way unique, but I have been unable to find the path into the maze.

I found out on Monday that I had successfully created a case, and a rep from Customer Service contacted me via email and was able to quickly resolve the issue. Thanks for your support.

Natasha,
Thank you for taking the time to provide that information. As I said above, my issue has been resolved, but hopefully someone in the future will be able to use your post to solve a similar problem.
