License error Autocad LT 2020

Hi,

When we open Autocad LT 2020 and then open a dwg file everything is going fine.
When we don't open Autocad, but open a dwg file directly by double click on the file we get a license check time out.

This is the error we get:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Error-License-checkout-t...

But non of the solutions work and as I said before it's only when we open the dwg file without opening Autocad first.

Someone any idea?

The default program is Autocad LT 2020.
We've tried selecting another program and chance it back to Autocad LT 2020 but no difference.

Yes, the service is running.

When we open Autocad LT 2020 first and than open a dwg file there's no problem and licenses are found.

It's only on double tick on a file, without open Autocad first.

What is that service startup set to?  Automatic, delay, etc?

Also is this service started?

If you stop both of them, can you start them again?

@Mark.Lancaster

It's set to automatic.

And it's not a network license, so as far as I thought netflex isn't necessary?

Yes that service is still needed for standalone license.  Prior to 2020, that was major service needed to run and activate your product.  So is it running or not?

Hi,

I have the same problem for Autodesk 2020 products with other details.

When we open Autodesk Products (Autocad, Revit, ...), I have to activate license by click on "Multi-user" :

autodesk.jpg

then I can use and open a Autodesk file. I don't need to specifiy license or port server, I have already saved the information on ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE variable environment.

But at first (like the first connection on the computer), if I open the Autodesk file by double-click, that doesn't work.

There is this step that I need to activate Autodesk Products. Without, It's not ok.

Is it possible to cancel this step and automatically connect to license Server ?

I verify Autodesk services, it's fine for me.

Best Regards

Molyce

P.S : Sorry for my english.

Hi,
We've solved the problem this morning.
All file association in Windows where set to the right programm.
But, we are using RES Workspace/Ivanti and it's necesarry to add dwg as filetype to the Autocad application.

@Anonymous are you using a similar programm like RES/Ivanti?

Hi Jack,

I'm only an IT aministrator in a high school and I don't know if others software that i have installed can open .dwg file. But we don't use RES Workspace/Ivanti.

In my Windows 10, .dwg file is opened by default with Autocad Application :

You mentioned this is a multi-user license, does this issue occur on just one PC or multiple computers?

Yes, I do. I am in the first case "For NLM installations". I have uninstall all products then reinstall them following steps for the 2 situations : that didn't work.

Now, I am going to activate products after imaging for each computers. It will be the only solution to deploy computers fastly.

But I am always looking for a solution for next deployment. If you have an idea, thanks for your response.

Thanks again for your help.
