Ive gotten the serial number for the wrong product

I have downloaded 2016 virtual agent version of 3ds max,  but i cant get it activated. On the autodesk page where i find my serial number it thinks i have downloaded 2015 version! This is probably because i DID download lots of different versions, but only the 2016 version is installed.  But when it tells me to activate the product i type in the only serial number i have, and it obviously says its wrong! Could someone send me a new serial number for the 2016 version? Please? xx

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Downloading a product and obtaining a serial number are things that only you can do for yourself. Where did you obtain the 2015 serial number from? Education Community, Autodesk Account, did you purchase from the Online Store? That's where you need to go back to and obtain the 2016 serial number.

I didnt purchase anything I just downloaded lots of different versions, and somehow the autodesk site thinks the only one i downloaded is the 2015 version. But how do I get the 2016 serial code? I've tried downloading the 2016 3ds max several times, but I dont really remember how to get the code... Btw im all new to 3ds max.

Since you have already downloaded the software - you don't need to download it again.

But go to the Autodesk Student Community, log in and start the procedure as though you were going to download 2016 from the student site.  In the process you will be assigned your personal Serial Number for 2016.
