It worked, then it didnt; '"Autodesk.Max.Wrappers.dll" encountered a problem'

Hi all

I had 3ds Max 2016 installed on my machine running windows 10 and it was working fine, but I came back after the weekend and now it wont start. It loads the splash screen up to the point that it says its 'Starting 3ds Max...' and then.... nothing. When I open task manager it says its still running as a background program. When I ran it using the windows compatibility test I got this message;

Untitled-1.jpg

Ive uninstalled all autodesk software from my machine and reinstalled from scratch and restarted a number of times today but to no avail. I need you 3ds Max forum, your my only hope!!

Cheers

Simon

P.S.

Having seen some of the solutions posted for earlier versions of Max;

-Ive tried running the .exe as Admin but got the same result

-There doesnt seem to be a HSDS.dlm in the AppData/Autodesk... directory

(in short: locate 3dsmax.ini, should be in \Users\Username\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2016 - 64bit\ENU,

find EnableCoreInterfaceProxySystem=1 and change it to

EnableCoreInterfaceProxySystem=0 )
