Installed Autodesk Inventor Professional - Student

I've downloaded and installed Autodesk Inventor Professional for my grandson.

Does running the software require constant internet access, or is it ok if there is no access?

Assuming your grandson it attending a qualified educational institution and of the correct age..  https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/education-program/who-can-join/el......

Student or Educational license is just a perpetual/serial # based license.  Once it gets the activation code from the request code of your machine, then it never phones home anymore..

Also your grandson educational account may be flagged in the coming days, weeks, and months because there's a new verification process going in effect for all educational licenses and they must prove who they are and have their school verification information.

I believe when I got his inventor installed, and started activation process the school info was input as part of the process. I had his father do this, as at the time I did not have access to his personal email account. I think he should be fine.

Do you have any further info on what they need when/if that new verification process kicks in?

For those in the US, Canada, and UK this verification process is already in play and students in these locations are seeing this new verification process.   Not sure how old your grandchild is but it looks kids that are 13 yr older and older but attending a school where younger students actually attend, the entire school is being denied (based on what I'm seeing and hearing from this new verification process).

School info is usually put in as standard however Mark is referring to another system on top of that which is being deployed worldwide over time.

If it does pop up a simple status letter from the school will do: Just needs Name, Name of School, A date in the current term.

You'll know if it kicks in as your grandson won't be able to request software from the education portal until he is verified.
