Incompatible File System

I've just got a MacBook Pro high Sierra 10.13.2 and I"m trying to instal autocad 2017, but I'm getting an incompatibility message that won't allow me to start the installation process. it reads:

Incompatible File System

Autodesk AutoCAD 2017 or Mac can only be installed on System drive formatted with Journaled HFS+ (Mac OS Extended Journaled) file system.

Don't know what to do. How can this be resolved?  Thanks...

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

You need to install the full version AutoCAD 2017.2 which can be found here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/installation-licensing/autocad-2017-and-autocad-lt-2017-for-mac-highsierra-v10-13-new/td-p/7449278 to support that OS.

Perhaps if you provided more detail in your original posting we the users could assist you.  At this point I have no clue what you are even trying to accomplish.  Provide all the necessary details and we can go from there.

Fair enough.

I am a newbie who just started learning AutoCAD. I initially tried to download free student version for MacOS but somehow ended up with the full version with the trial. I believe it was the 2018 version that I downloaded and I didn't see any error during installation and it was working fine through the trial period as I practice with an online course.

Trial finished and I tried donwloading the student version. The latest version available was 2015 and apparently its incompatible and wont install.

Even though latest version is desirable (easier to follow online lectures) but its not really important. i could learn with an older version as well..

Please kindly advise.

Cheers

Friend, there is no "student version": AutoCAD is AutoCAD, your student license simply expires after 3-years then you get to upgrade to a new one for free if you are still a student.

Did you simply forget to register as a student here to get the student license than lasts longer than the 30-day trial https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/education-program/create-educatio...

Thats what I thought in the beginning but Mac is not available here in the dropdown list. New Note.jpeg

I clicked Windows 64-bit and tried that code with the AutoCAD 2018 on my Mac and it worked 🙂

Cheers!

Hi @Anonymous
For your reference, you can find the Mac option if you select "AutoCAD for Mac" from the Education Software main page, see below.

Regardless, I am glad your workaround worked Smiley Happy Since AutoCAD has Cross-platform Licensing enabled, you can use your Student License either on PC or Mac.
