I noticed that someone had the same problem I had with his copy not loading. it was suggested that I install and reinstall. That worked for me. One of the replies I got made the comment that I should enjoy it while I can.

Is my copy going to stop working?

You seem to be having quite the software issue with LT2018 lately, do you just need a better more stable computer? And is your LT2018 fully updated (ABOUT command inside the program will confirm if you have 2018.1.2 installed) https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Update...

if your asking if Autodesk will shut off activation of your 2018 then no

if they had this ability they would shut off everybodys activation of unsupported versions

thank you.

the term "unsupported versions" means what.

Just a little about me I've been using ACAD for over 35 years and made a living doing architecture drafting for 10 of those. Other then really enjoying the program (use it for my own projects now) I have a very extensive library of drawings I don't want to loose.

are there any options for the future.

For:

and subscription, access will end when 2024 comes out  "

that is what I trying to find out

If you're on subscription then the answer would be NO ..  as 2018 wouldn't be part of the 5 prior versions.

2024 then 2023,22,21,20,19 ... that's it. Otherwise you're not in compliance with the licensing / subscription agreement.

it means they will stop providing links to download the software if you don’t have the physical media anymore

they are already stopped providing technical support & providing updates next step if they will stop providing activation codes for this version

the files are your files Autodesk does not go in to your computer and delete your files your responsible for backing up your files to the cloud or som

It all depends on the kind of license you have. To check, click About under the question mark in the upper right corner and then Manage license. If it reads 'user license' then you are on subscription. If it reads something like 'perpetual' you have a lifetime license. If you are on subscription, then you have to pay Autodesk a fee on a regular basis. If you don't pay, you're not allowed to use the product anymore. If you have a valid subscription, then there's something called 'previous versions' which, if granted, means you can use a version not covered by the license. But if you are on subscription, I wouldn't go that way but instead install a newer version.

If you have a perpetual license, then you're free to use it 'as-is' as long as you like, but with new versions of Windows emerging, sooner or later it won't run anymore. Also, version 2018 is no longer supported which basically means there will be no updates to address problems.
