I can´t download/install student version Autocad 2015

Hello. This is my first post.  Sorry for my English language because my native language is Spanish . I am a student and I have Windows 7 64 bit and pre- install the free trial Autocad 2014 a month ago. I´ve registered for the upgrade student version Autocad 2015 and I´ve downloaded the file Autocad 2015 and when trying to install autocad said that had a communication failure . After re-download autocad 2015 on many times of the ways "Download now" and "Install now" , still not working. I have done next steps to try to solve the problem : I used a program to uninstall the free trial autocad 2014 (Advance unistaller) , I removed temp files, I have disabled security programs , I have removed the Microsoft Visual C + + 2010 Redistributable x86 files, Microsoft Visual C + + 2010 Redistributable x64 files. I have now downloaded version student Autocad 2015 Spanish 64 bit by "Browser download" but when I tried to install it, tells me it is 32 bit ( in the Autodesk servers , student version Autocad 64 bit in Spanish is not 64 bit but 32 bit. There is no upgrade student Autocad 2015 64 bit in Spanish language . I can download student version Autocad 2015 in English but yet I haven´t a very high level in english language) . I have now downloaded the student version Autocad 2014 download by "Browser download" . Do you have any advice to download and instal Autocad 2015 student version? Thanks

I did have a problem when trying to download Revit Architecture. I succesfully signed in, but after the site is not giving me any version selecting options.

So I downloaded it from Autodesk Virtual Agent. But now I can't get student license from it. What should I do?

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Is this the Education Community page where you are trying to download Revit from? Please note that Revit Architecture as a standalone product is not available from the Education Community. Full Revit has all the capabilites of Architecture, Structure and more and the serial number can be obtained from this page as mentioned before. 

As for the download, you may need to go back to the Virtual Agent and download full Revit as opposed to Revit Architecture.

Why have you not stated your system specs here?

Can your instructor show you how to find your system specs and how to find the system requirements for Revit 2015?

Welcome to the community...

Try downloading and installing per:

1. Access the Autodesk Virtual Agent (link is in my signature) and follow the download links to your product.
2. Download all of the parts (some applications only have a single part to download) for your product first. Do not continue until all of the parts have fully downloaded.
3. Navigate to your download folder location and extract (double click) part _001_00X.sfx.exe (or the single file download).
4. In a few seconds the extraction will start and prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk.
5. Once the extraction is finished, the installation will automatically start.
6. Follow the installation steps for your product

If you want the full recommended installation steps, click on the installation link in my signature.

Hello, I cannot download the 2016 Student Version of Autocad. I have a 64 bit Operating System, yet when I download, halfway through the download it stats that the installation is incomplete and lists a whole bunch of X's beside the failed things. I click finsih, yet nothing happens!!

Apologies for the trouble. Could you post your installation log file? I am guessing it indicates an error 1603 from what you described. Give this solution a try.

I'm having the same problem for my AutoCAD 2015 English Student Version as well. I've turned off my firewall and anti-virus settings and yet there is something blocking the installation. Please assist me in dealing this issue.

Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear about the issue. Have you tried the virtual agent yet? It uses a different download method. If you are still having trouble, could you post us a screenshot of your error?

Hi, I really need help here because I had been struggling re-installing maya 2014 for 4 hours. I already had turned off my firewall and antivirus and still it say my internet is not connected to install the window component. And also I already had tried the virtual agent.

You need to provide your installation log file so we can determine what the problem is.  You indicated its also failing when you use the Virtual Agent.  So the log file is now crucial in determining what the problem is.  Posting info: Sometimes installation log files contain personal information such as your serial #.  Prior to posting your log file please make sure to remove such info by editing the log file with notepad.

Good luck with that... Sorry to hear you're having issues. I've had problems with downloading almost any student software from the official Autodesk website. My advice is to get a copy of the software from torrents, and then use the key Autodesk gave you.

I didn't hijack anything, but thanks for actually reading the thread. It was not just maya that created frustration, but maya was one of the software I struggles to install.

Without your installation log file we can only speculate what the issue is at this point.  So attach your installation file here so we can review it.

Posting info: Sometimes the installation log file contains the serial # that was assigned to you.  Open your log file using Windows Notepad and perform a search on "/SN".  Depending on the number of installation attempts, your serial # may be located throughout the log file.  If present, remove or "X" out your serial # prior to posting.

The 2015 version is retired for student/educational.  You can only get 2016 to 2019.  Drawings created in AutoCAD 2013-2017 can be opened in all of these versions with no problem.  So even if your school is using the 2015 versions you can request and use the 2016 version.
