How to Purchase Autodesk Software

Hello, 

I just wanted to get this bit of information in the forums, these questions have been asked from time to time. Every now and again new users are unsure where they should be purchasing Autodesk Software, I have provided some general information on how to & what to avoid. 

Autodesk does not offer perpetual licensing it has permanently moved to subscription licensing, known as a subscription-based software model. 

Autodesk products are sold through the Autodesk EStore or by locating an authorized Reseller.

Please be careful when purchasing Autodesk product from sources outside of our authorized resellers center or our web store.

There are unauthorized vendors that say they sell our software but are not authorized to do so. In situations such as this, you would likely run into issues registering our software and may ultimately lose time and money on an unauthorized purchase.

Uh, one correction.

You can't technically purchase most Autodesk software. All products, except a couple, are only available through a subscription, or put plainly, rental.

You pay to use the software for a predetermined time period. Then you renew by paying for a new time period, or not. If you choose to not renew, the software no longer works.
